DTU Clinician attains highest level of membership of the Royal College of Physicians

13-May-2014

Congratulations to DTU Senior Clinical Researcher Dr Michael Theodorakis, who has become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), the highest level of membership awarded by the College.

Michael joined the DTU in July 2012, and is the Clinical Lead for the Acarbose Cardiovascular Evaluation (ACE) trial. He also works on early phase studies with the Translational Research Group (TRG) and is a clinician in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust specialist diabetes outpatient service.

The RCP support clinicians at all stages of their careers, setting and monitoring the standards of medical training and producing evidence-based guidelines and audits to support fellows and members in improving and scrutinising clinical care. They also take a wide role in the public health arena by campaigning for change, advising government, and taking part in national debates on medical, clinical and public health issues.
