Having graduated from the University of Sydney, Fay spent a number of years as a medical laboratory scientific officer working in and managing biochemistry and endocrinology labs, and in clinical audit within the NHS. In 2007 she completed a PGCE in secondary science education, subsequently teaching biology to A-level in both secondary schools and in a college of further education.
Fay joined the DTU at the end of November 2016, having recently returned to clinical research as a data manager in late phase oncology. Her previous research experience was as a senior clinical data coordinator for Wyeth Research UK.
Her interests outside of work include reading, theatre, walking in the countryside and visiting castles.
