Position:TRG Project Manager
Dr Irene Kennedy joined the Diabetes Trials Unit in August 2008 as a project manager. Working with multi-disciplinary clinical trial teams, her primary responsibility is to ensure the trials she oversees run as smoothly as possible to the highest standards.
Irene's experience spans translational trials, run locally with very small numbers of participants, through to international Phase IV trials involving tens of thousands of participants, hundreds of sites and more than 30 countries.
With a background in chemical engineering, Irene worked as a post-doctoral research engineer for 8 years before diversifying into laboratory administration and finally clinical trials. Prior to joining the DTU, she worked on oncology and renal clinical trials also at the University of Oxford.
