DTU Clinician wins Oxford College scholarship

07-Mar-2014

Congratulations to our senior clinical researcher Dr Jyothis George, who has been appointed as a Robert Turner Research Associate until December 2014 at Green Templeton College (GTC), University of Oxford.

Jyothis is a Clinical Lead for one of our international mega trials, EXSCEL (EXenatide Study of Cardiovascular Event Lowering), works on early phase studies with the DTU Translational Research Group, and is a diabetologist in OCDEM.

GTC Associate Fellow Dr Jennie Turner set up the scholarship in memory of her late husband, who was a founding Fellow of the former Green College. The college scholarship allows postgraduate physicians or scientists, visiting from abroad and working in the field of diabetes or related disciplines in Oxford, to become actively involved with the College.

"The landmark UKPDS study was published whilst I was still at medical school, and hugely influenced my career choice," says Jyothis. "It is a real privilege to be selected to this position named after Prof Turner."
