Prof. Rury Holman was a member of a think tank comprised of representatives from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies that was convened to consider the regulatory guidance for cardiovascular outcome trials in diabetes following the findings of trials that had been completed. The group made several recommendations for future regulatory guidance, and for cardiovascular outcome trials of glucose-lowering therapies.
